“iCare” Programs
i-Care iPad Campaign
We donate iPads to Pike County residents with Autism (ASD) who have limited or no expressive language as a communication device.
“i-Care about Music”
It is our goal to broaden the opportunities for students with autism & other special needs, to access musical instruments. By collaborating with the Delaware Valley SD Music Dept and musicians in the Pike County, we hope to provide the support and encouragement necessary for these students to learn to play an instrument.
This new initiative will focus on students with disabilities, which is a historically underserved population. These families are often a one-parent household or a one-income family, making it difficult to afford the cost of rental or purchase of a musical instrument.
Children on the autism spectrum are faced with deficits in communication, challenging behaviors, unable to appropriately interact with their typical peers and effectively express their emotions.
Learning to play an instrument can open doors to a better quality of life for these students.
